hi, i'm kass.

Rest is a skill most of us were never taught, and I love helping people learn it.

We live in a culture that measures our worth by how much we get done, and treats rest as something you earn once the work is finished, if there's anything left of you by then. Most of us learned to push through, zone out in front of a screen, or collapse into sleep, and none of those are the same thing as actually resting. Real rest means staying still long enough for your body to stop prepping for the next thing, and that takes practice. I know, because I'm still practicing it myself.

With over 20 years in the practice of yoga, I consider myself a student before anything else. I believe that good teaching comes from deep studentship - learning, questioning, and staying connected to both my own practice, and to myself.

These days, restorative yoga is at the center of my teaching. After years of teaching restorative in studios around town, I finally trained with the master, Judith Lasater, in the fall of 2026. I'm now offering something you won't find anywhere else in Rochester: a two-hour, fully supported restorative practice, where every student receives individual, hands-on assistance (always with consent). Restorative is my focus now, but other offerings will surely grow from there.

Whether we're resting or moving, my classes are built on thoughtful sequencing and the understanding that yoga is a practice that keeps deepening and evolving over a lifetime. I encourage curiosity and participation, recognizing that every student is both a practitioner and a teacher in their own right. I love creating space for people to explore, reflect and find their own connection to the practice.

I am passionate about honoring lineage while making yoga accessible and relevant for today's practitioners. At the heart of my teaching is the belief that every being is inherently good, exactly as they are.

I'm committed to keeping my offerings welcoming, and I hope to help build an inclusive home for the Rochester yoga community. By fostering spaces that are grounded in shared values, I hope to create an environment where students can explore their practice with honesty and authenticity. My most heartfelt wish is to create a community where yoga becomes a shared practice of devotion, purpose and connection.
